To participate in this workshop, an attendee will need to:

1. Have a basic understanding of program assessment. This session is particularly suited for newcomers or for IR professionals who are new in their leadership of a program assessment process.

Description:
The evaluation of programs for their effectiveness of student learning is a core component of the institutional accreditation process. A well-designed assessment process is critical to ensure a high-quality learning environment for students. In this workshop, participants will learn how to develop a sustainable model for university program assessment under the collaborative leadership between the IR office and faculty leaders of the university-wide program assessment committee. The presenter will share examples for a collaborative leadership approach with emphasis on continuous improvement resulting in increased faculty engagement in assessment. She will present assessment tools, sample documents, and resources. Workshop attendees will engage in discussions about challenges and opportunities of the program assessment processes and discern how to implement collaborative assessment strategies at their institutions.

Intended Learning Outcomes
Participants in this workshop will:

1. Learn about a collaborative leadership model for program learning outcomes assessment.
2. Learn about the alignment of the annual assessment with other key processes.
3. Learn about successful initiatives resulting in increased faculty-engagement and a renewed focus on continuous improvement in preparation for reaccreditation.
4. Gain access to assessment resources.
